Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 23, 2026 · Last updated: August 19, 2026
WordBridge ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use WordBridge — a SaaS Chrome extension and web application available at wordbridge.world.
By using WordBridge, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address via email/password registration or OAuth providers (Google, Microsoft, Facebook).
- Payment information: Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. We do not store your credit card details. Paddle provides us with transaction records only.
- Feedback and survey responses: Any messages or ratings you submit through our feedback or survey forms.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage data: We track the number of translations, grammar corrections, and text-to-speech requests you make per day to enforce free tier limits and manage your subscription.
- Extension activity: We record daily usage counts linked to your account. We do not record, store, or log the actual text you translate or correct.
- Log data: Our servers may log standard information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited on wordbridge.world for security and analytics purposes.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- When you sign in via Google, Microsoft, or Facebook, we receive your name and email address from those providers as permitted by your settings with them.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your WordBridge account
- To enforce daily usage limits and subscription plan benefits
- To process payments and manage your subscription via Paddle
- To respond to your feedback, support requests, and survey responses
- To send you important notices about your account or service changes
- To improve our product and understand how users interact with WordBridge
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Text You Select or Type
When you use the WordBridge Chrome extension to translate text, check grammar, or use text-to-speech, that text is sent to third-party APIs for processing:
- Translation: Text is sent to Google Translate API.
- Grammar correction (Free): Short text may be sent to LanguageTool API for basic grammar checking.
- Grammar correction (Premium): Text is sent to Google Gemini AI API for advanced grammar correction and professional rewriting. Gemini processes your text in real time to return corrected results.
- Text-to-speech: Text is sent to Google Text-to-Speech API to generate audio.
We do not store, log, or retain the text you translate or correct. It is processed in real time and returned directly to you. Please review the respective privacy policies of Google, Google Gemini, and LanguageTool for how they handle data sent to their APIs.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a managed database platform hosted on AWS infrastructure. We implement appropriate technical measures including:
- Row-level security (RLS) ensuring users can only access their own data
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
- Secure authentication tokens with expiration
- No storage of payment card data — handled entirely by Paddle
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share your data only with:
- Paddle: Our payment processor for subscription management.
- Supabase: Our database provider for account and usage data.
- Vercel: Our hosting provider for the website and API.
- Google (Translate, Gemini, Text-to-Speech): For real-time processing of selected text. No text is stored by us after processing.
- LanguageTool: For basic grammar checking on free tier.
- Legal requirements: If required by applicable law or court order.
- Business transfers: If WordBridge is acquired or merged, your data may transfer as part of that transaction with prior notice.
